KMA supplies LED bulbs to all SHS in Kumasi Metropolis

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has supplied 3,000 pieces of household LED bulbs to 15 Senior High Schools (SHS) within the Kumasi Metropolis.

It is meant to ensure the safety and security on the campuses of the beneficiary schools.

The beneficiary schools included the Armed Forces Senior High Technical School, Kumasi Senior High Technical School, Adventist SHS, Kumasi Girls SHS, Wesley SHS, T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS, and Opoku Ware School (OWASS).

The rest are Prince of Peace SHS, Asanteman SHS, Islamic SHS, J.A. Kufuor SHS, Anglican SHS (KASS), Serwaa Nyarko Girls SHS, and Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI).

The package is part of a consignment released by the Central Government through the Ministry of Energy to the KMA to help with conservation of energy in the public domain.

Mr. Sam Pyne, KMA Chief Executive, who presented the bulbs to the Metro Director of Education at the premises of the Assembly on Monday, said it was a token of commitment to facilitate the safety of students when in the dormitories.

Mr. David Oppong, Kumasi Metro Director of Education, expressed appreciation on behalf of the headmasters who, in turn, received two boxes of 200 bulbs each for their schools.

He said the intervention would help enhance learning and called for more of such since the schools faced other challenges.
