Rotary Club of Sunyani-Central donates medical equipment to 13 health facilities
The Rotary Club of Sunyani-Central has donated medical equipment worth $73,063.02 to13 health facilities to help facilitate improved maternal health care in the Sunyani Municipality.
Addressing the media at the official handing over of the equipment at the 3rd Infantry Battalion Barracks, the President of the Club, RP Mawuli Johnson Tsagli-Awor, indicated that a needs assessment by the club at the 13 facilities gingered its action, and called on all to join hands in reaching out to society.
He charged staff at the health facilities to keep proper maintenance of the equipment to ensure their long lives span.
The beneficiary facilities were, the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, Seventh Day Adventist, and Bono Regional Hospital.
Others were, the Atronie Health Centre, Watchman Health Centre, Yawsae Health Centre, Antwikrom Health Centre, Owusu Memorial Hospital, Abesim Health Centre, Yawhima Health Centre and Nkrankom Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound.
The equipment donated included warmers, baby suction devices, examination gloves, autoclave, delivery beds, microscope, wheelchairs, defibrillators, cardiac monitors, ECG machine, nebulisers, hospital beds, and dental chair.
Speaking at the event, the Commanding Officer of 3BN, Lt. Col. Dominic Boah, commended the Rotary Club and called on it to help complete a theatre facility at the barracks, which was about 90% complete.
Receiving the equipment, representative nurses of the beneficiary facilities expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club for the kind gesture, and gave an assurance to ensure the maintenance culture to prolong the lifespan of the equipment.Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Pinterest
