Woman and two kids found dead at Akyem Ntronang
A 38 year old woman, Patience Kpezle and her two children, Belinda Nyarko, 13, and Isaac Nyarko Gafa, 11, have been found dead in their room at Akyem Ntronang in the Birim North district of the Eastern region.
According to pieces of information reaching The Chronicle, the lifeless bodies of the mother and children were discovered after the Assembly member for Mentukwa Electoral area, Mr Samuel Dodzi, reported to the police a strong stench which was emitting from the room.
The Police in the area quickly proceeded to the village, broke the locker and indeed found the woman and her children dead.
Confirming the incident in a telephone interview, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, stressed that the bodies of the mother and children have been conveyed to the Mamanso Community mortuary.
According to him, the police have immediately launched investigations to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of the three, and quickly called on any person or group of persons to provide information to assist with the investigation.
Cross-section of residents in the area, who spoke with the paper on condition of anonymity, said the three died on Sunday, August 22, 2021 and that their death was not natural.
The whereabouts of the deceased’s husband, Emmanuel Kofi Gafa is still unknown. The husband, according to multiple sources, had on numerous occasions had problems with his wife, some of which were reportedly settled by their pastor and the assemblyman.
Before her untimely demise, Patience Kpezle, who hails from a town called Nyanua, near Asamankese in the West Akyem Municipality moved to stay with her husband at Akyem Ntronang, after they married.
