Ghana to bounce back against Qatar Int’l friendly Ghana Black Stars will play the national football team of Qatar in the Turkish city of Antalya today.
The 2022 World Cup hosts arrived on Saturday evening and will prepare on Sunday ahead of the game on Monday. The Asian champions departed Doha with 25 players and the technical team.
The Ghana national team have been in Turkey in the last few days preparing for next month’s AFCON qualifiers against Sudan.
The team lost 3-0 on Friday night to African rivals Mali and will look to bounce back against Qatar.
Qatar replaced Equatorial Guinea for the friendly, when the West Africans backed out in the eleventh hour due to travelling restrictions.
Coach C.K Akonnor will be hoping his team bounces back from the disastrous showing against Mali.
The two countries will use the friendly to prepare for their respective international competitions in November. Ghana have an Africa Cup of Nations double header against Sudan in November and the match in Turkey, would be useful for Coach C.K. Akonnor who has yet to play a game since his appointment in January this year.
The game will be played at the Mardan Sports Complex, which has a seating capacity of 7,938. Turkish Lig side Antalyaspor are the tenants of this venue.
