Dunkwahene Lobbies For Ministerial Appointment For Area
OkofrobourObengNuakoh III, the chief of Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central region has appealed to the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government to consider a native of the area for a ministerial appointment in his second government.
The chief contended that the area has been supportive of the government over the years, since the regime of Dr. K.A. Busia.
He noted that the only time a native of Dunkwa was appointed a minister was when the late Hon. C.O. Nyanor was appointed a Deputy Minister of Finance.
Nana ObengNuakoh III,while speaking to the media at Dunkwasaid that land has been reserved for the government to establish a DVLA office at Dunkwa to ease the burden of people travelling all the way to Cape Coast for the acquisition and issuance of driving licences.
He also appealed to the government and the Municipal assembly to consider the rehabilitation of the Dunkwa Lorry terminal which has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time.
The Dunkwahene also expressedconcern aboutthe slow pace of work on the River Offin Bridge and called for a replacement of the contractor working on the project.
While praising the government for the rehabilitation of the Manukrom road, Nana ObengNuakohalso called on the government to ensure the completion of the Dunkwa sports stadium which was started during Gen. Acheampong’s regime.
