Covid-19 should spur on African countries to be self-reliant – Veep Bawumia

April 10, 2020 By 0 Comments

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has said the novel coronavirus will surely push economies across the global to radically adopt measures to make them self-reliant.

He is, therefore, calling on Africa in particular to be ready to face that future, where it would have to produce its own goods and services, like other economies.

According to a message posted on his Twitter page a while ago, “the post COVID-19 global economic architecture is going to be a radically different one. It will usher in more self-reliance by countries in the production of goods and services. We in Africa have to get ready for this future.” By Maxwell Ofori
