Concerned Small Scale Miners Prez retracts allegation against Nat’l. Security

Michael Kwadwo Peprah, President of the Concerned Small Scale Miners Association

The President of the Concerned Small Scale Miners Association, Michael Kwadwo Peprah, has retracted the allegation he made against the Office of the President and the security agencies that the Chinese galamsey kingpins had embossed official stickers of the Presidency on their vehicles, which they were using to commit the illegal act.

Speaking in Kumasi, Mr. Kwadwo Peprah claimed because of this ‘official sticker’, the Chinese illegal miners involved had been emboldened to keep on with their illegal mining activities without restraint.

But speaking on Asaase Radio in Kumasi, the Concerned Miners Association President said his allegation against the Office of the President and the security agencies had no proof, and subsequently retracted it and also apologised to all the parties who were wrongly accused.

Also on Joy FM, Mr. Michael Peprah had alleged that ‘galamsey’ kingpin, Aisha Huang returned to the country six months after her deportation.

“After six months, she was sighted around Dadieso. As a matter of fact, in that enclave, there is a mining activity going on.

She was having her activities close to the Côte d’Ivoire border and when things become tough, she would go to Côte d’Ivoire and when things come down, she comes back to Ghana.

She stayed there for a while then she moved to Mali and she later decided to come back to settle here. That is how come she came on a Togolese visa,” he told Evans Mensah.

Mr. Michael Kojo Peprah alleged that Aisha Huang’s affiliation with some big wigs in government has aided her ‘galamsey’ operations.

“For her to even come back to this country and to engage in the same activity you should understand that there are some big shots behind it because she herself is not super powerful.

There are politicians who find her as a money bag and in so doing do everything in their own possible way to protect her,” he stated.
