Ashanti NDC Women denounce Organiser

The Ashanti Regional Women’s wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has distanced itself from the Regional Organiser, Gloria Hudze’s decision to support Dr. Kwabena Duffuor in his bid to vie for the flagbearership position of the party.

Madam Yaa Boatemaah Agyemang, Deputy Ashanti regional Women’s Organiser of the NDC, at a press conference last Thursday stated that the regional Women’s Organiser who picked a form for the former Bank of Ghana Governor was not a collective decision of the women’s wing and does not represent their position.

According to her, the claim by the Regional Organiser that the Ashanti Regional Women’s wing contributed and mobilised funds to pick the form for Dr Duffuor was false and intended to create an erroneous impression in the minds of the rank and file of the NDC that it was a collective decision, which must be treated with the contempt it deserves.

She said the comment by Madam Hudze was an individual decision, which does not represent the collective interest of the women’s wing in the upcoming presidential primaries.

She stressed that Madam Hudze’s position as leader of the women’s wing was her personal decision for personal gains.

Madam Agyemang stressed that the Ashanti Regional Women’s wing has no problem with any of the candidates vying for the flagbearership slot and for that matter if they have the funds they would have contributed to support them all.

Madam Yaa Boatemaah Agyemang stressed that the regional Women’s wing of Ashanti NDC has not supported any of the contestants.
