Apostle Samuel Amponsah Frimpong Elected CACI Chairman

The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) has elected Apostle Samuel Amponsah Frimpong as the Chairman of the Church.

The elections climaxed the 66th Ministerial and General Council Meeting of the church in Accra.

Apostle Amponsah Frimpong, a lawyer by profession, polled 676 votes out of the 1,084 ballots cast to beat his contender Rev. Augustine Bugyei who secured just 308 votes. He will be head of the church for the next four years.

Apostle Amponsah Frimpong succeeds immediate past Chairman Apostle George Yeboah, under whom he served as General Secretary.

The former Missions Director of the church, Apostle Samuel Addai-Kusi garnered 633 votes to become the new General Secretary of the church. He defeated Rev Augustine Ekuban who secured 343 with one rejected ballot.

Rev. Stephen Acheampong became the new Field Director of the church after he secured 612 votes against his opponent Rev. Samuel Mireku who polled 372 votes.

Apostle Enoch Osafo is the immediate past Field Director of the CACI.

Rev. Asumadu Kyeremeh became the Christian Education Director of the CACI with 663 votes against Rev. David Biney who had 322 votes. Rev. Biney was one time the Sunyani Area Head of the church.

Apostle Joseph K. Arhin is the immediate past Christian Education Director of the church.

The voting class of CACI and the candidates just before the voting commenced

Incumbent Evangelism Director, Apostle Prosper Agbagblo maintained his seat with a resounding lead of 980 votes, as against Apostle D.H. Okyere who only managed 72 votes.

Apostle George Peter Derry became the Missions Director of the church after he won with a landslide victory with 632 votes against his contender Rev. Emmanuel Awotwe, who had 345 votes.

One of the most sensitive positions in the church is the Prophetic Directorship, because the church was born out of prophecy.

The position comes with enormous spiritual and physical responsibilities because the occupant must communicate God’s direction for the church at any given time.

Rev. Samuel Kpeli Mensah won the ballot to become the new Prophetic Director of the church with 507 votes while his opponent Rev. Baffour Awuah had 471 votes.

Apostle George Awuku Morklah is the immediate past Prophetic Director of the church.

VOTING CLASS

Under Article 9 Section 2 of the 2019 Constitution of the Christ Apostolic Church International, eligible and accredited representatives for the exercise include all members of the Executive Council, full-time Ministers, Territorial Administration Members, three representatives from each area as well as representatives from selected missionary areas in Ghana and foreign missions.

Others are departmental heads at the General headquarters, two Representatives from Good Women Ministry National Management, Youth/ Casa National Management, Men’s Ministry National Management as well as Children’s Ministry National Management.

Head of subsidiaries or representatives are allowed as observers. The elections were conducted by the electoral committee of the church.

The seven-member Executive Council will have two other appointees including the Director of Finance and General Elder, making a total of nine (9) to steer the affairs of the church for the next four years.
