Afigya Kwabre residents not adhering to social distancing rule – Police
ACP Annor Arhin, Tafo-Pankrono Divisional Commander of the Ghana Police Service has appealed to the residents in the Afigya Kwabre South and part of the Offinso North district to comply with the social distancing rules as directed by the Ministry of Health to stop the spread of the coronavirus. According to him, the observance of the social distancing is not encouraging in the district hence his appeal to them to repent.
ACP Annor made the appeal when Mr. Christian Adu-Poku, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwabre, presented six (6) Motorbikes, Veronica buckets, hands sanitizers and tissues to his outfit to help the police protect themselves against the coronavirus and also beef up security in the area.
According to him, residents in major communities like Mosi Zongo, Krofrom, Atimatim and Buoho are finding it difficult to comply with the partial lockdown and are always seen roaming on the streets. According to him, when these residents see the police, they take to their heels whilst insulting the law enforcers.
He commended the DCE for the kind gesture saying the items had been presented at the right time.
Mr Christian Adu-Poku, District Chief Executive (DCE) on his part said the provision of the logistics is in fulfillment of the Assembly’s commitment to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
