Yokohama FC, a Kumasi-based Division Three side has been launched amid fun fare and pageantry in the Ashanti Region.
The club, owned by a Ghanaian businessman domiciled in Germany, Joe De-Graft, has purposed to use the club as an avenue to assist street children with football potential.
Already, he has been assisting street children in the Kumasi Metropolis with footballs, sets of jerseys, training kits, e.t.c for free, with the assistance from a Barbara Jaehnigen a German woman.
Besides their passion for football, the duo, (Joe and Barbara), on two occasions sent gifts like toys , shoes , dresses to some churches and orphanage homes in the Agona Swedru District.
Another Germany philanthropist and a club owner, Andreas Barth( South Germany ) have been providing footballs, jerseys for an annual International U- 19 tournament in Ostrach, Germany called YOKOHAMA CUP. YOKOHAMA is a car tyre company and sponsors of the event.
