The Volta Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) David Ampah Bennin, has cautioned criminals not to venture into the region, because the police were combat-ready to deal with criminals, particularly, as the Christmas festivity was drawing near.

DCOP Ampah Bennin said it was becoming increasingly clear that criminals, such as highway robbers, were gradually directing their activities to the Volta Region, since operating in the cities was becoming more difficult for them, and warned that the region was not safe for their nefarious activities, because if they tried, they would be arrested.

The Volta Regional Police Commander, who said this in a press conference held in Ho when 17 suspected highway robbers attacked passengers on board metro mass bus between Tapa-Alavanyo and Kwamekrom in the Biakoye District were arrested, stressed that the morale of the police was high, and that they would not tolerate any act of lawless, which were likely to disturb the peace.
