In its hanker to keep the staff healthy and ready for work, uniBank Ghana Limited, one of the fastest growing financial institutions in Ghana, over the weekend organised fun games for its workers.

Preceding the fun games was a health walk to keep the staff healthy and strong all the time.

All branches and departments in the Greater Accra Region took part in events such as soccer, sack racing, scrabble, ludo, oware, draughts, table tennis and others.

Some of the branches and departments that took part were Accra Main, Consumer Finance, Tema, Apenkwa, Legal, Trade Banking, SME and Corporate, Finance and Marketing and Spintex

Ammishaddai Owusu Amoah, Managing Director of the Bank, noted that the fun games, which was one of the activities of bonding the staff together, was to help create a friendly atmosphere and new ideas to make the bank a better place to work.

“We want to break the barrier between superiors and subordinates, and improve team work for better delivery of services and performance,” the versatile MD stressed.

Continuing, he said, “Bringing staff continuously together to engage each other, irrespective of positions, and playing together in fun games like this, will go in a long way to enhance the bank’s profitability.”

He urged smaller companies to have time for their staff and make them happy, since this improves performance delivery.

This year alone, the bank has taken part in activities such as the Joy FM Invitational tournament, where it was one of the best teams.

Flexible, made up of Accra Main, Consumer Finance, Tema, Apenkwa, Legal, Proprietary Trading and Trade Banking, emerged the overall winners, followed by Vibrant, which comprised Human Resource and Estate, Osu, Service Quality and Recovery, Accra Mall, Transport and Logistics and Finance and Marketing.

Teamwork was however the 2nd runner up.
Flexible won four of the seven scoring events, including football, sack race and ‘oware,’ while Teamwork won the draughts competition.
