As part of his promise of enhancing the quality of education in his consistency, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Tafo in Kumasi, Anthony Akoto Osei, has presented laptops and 100 bags of cement to some senior high and basic schools to facilitate teaching and learning.
The beneficiary schools include St. Benedict Junior High (JHS) and Primary School, Tafo Methodist JHS and Faith Assemblies of God Senior High School.
The laptops were donated to the JHS and the basic schools, whilst the bags of cements were presented to the SHS towards infrastructural development in the school.
Dr. Akoto said, during separate presentations, that he had been inspired by the vision and objectives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to put high premium on education as the bedrock for Ghana’s development.
He emphasised that ICT education now plays a leading role in every country’s quest for development, stressing that improved ICT learning was a major priority that he would continue to pay attention to.
At the Faith Assemblies of God SHS, where he donated the 100 bags of cement, the MP noted that it was in response to an appeal made by authorities of the school.
He was full of hope that it would go a long way to help improve the infrastructural facilities in the school.
The Headmaster of the school, Mr. Osei Mensah, who received the items, thanked the MP for honouring his promise, and pledged that the material would be used for the purpose for which it was donated.
He was full of praises for the MP for his contributions and continuous assistance to the school, even though it was not a public one.
