Swaggart Fan Club supports Police, Childrens’ Home

AS PART of activities marking this year’s Christmas festivities, the Swaggart Fan Club in Kumasi has presented four metal barriers to the Suame and Asawase Police to enhance the operations of the security service during the festivities.

The donations, worth GH¢1,500, were made at separate presentations last Sunday, by members of the club during their weekend morning exercise.

The Fan Club, which was formed by the management of Swaggart Hotel at Maakro in Kumasi, has about 500 members with branches in Accra.

Presenting the items, the Chairman of the Fan Club, Douglas Adu Bekoe, stated that the club appreciates the immense role being played by the police in ensuring peace in the metropolis, hence the decision to support them.

He said the presentation was their widow’s mite towards boosting the morale of the security personnel, especially, in the period of the Christmas festivities, when all manner of criminal activities abound.

On his part, the Suame Divisional Police Commander, DSP Kwaku Duah, expressed gratitude to members of the club for their kind gesture, and intimated that the metal barriers would be very useful to the operations of the police in stemming vehicular and other forms of crime.

The club, in a related development, presented assorted items made up of 12 bags of rice, cooking oil and second-hand clothing to the inmates of the Kumasi Children Home.

The donation was to enable the inmates enjoy the Christmas and New Year festivities.
