Supreme Court adjourns case against C.I.78
The sitting judge adjourned the case because the lawyer for Ransford France, the plaintiff, who took the matter to court amended the application and the Attorney General’s team was also not ready to proceed with it.
The Supreme Court had earlier dismissed an interim injunction filed by the lawyer for the plaintiff, Joe Ghartey to prevent Parliament from considering the Constitutional Instrument (CI) 78 seeking the powers to create the constituencies.
Parliament on Tuesday passed it making it possible for political parties to contest the 45 new seats in the 2012 general elections. Credit: citifmonline.com
