… Lose 2-3 on penalties to Senegal

Ghana failed to qualify for the African Under-17 Championship, after losing 3-2 on penalties to Senegal in the final round of qualifiers.

The Black Starlets were leading 2-0 prior to the kick off in Dakar on Sunday.

But the Senegalese scored a goal in either half to cancel out the 2-0 lead of the Black Starlets from the first leg, forcing the game into penalties, where they edged out Ghana.

Seven teams thus join host Rwanda for the 8-team African U-17 Championships, beginning January 7-22, 2011.
