Spain stars David Villa, Xavi, Fernando Llorente, Santi Cazorla, Sergio Busquets, Javi Martinez, David Silva, Carlos Marchena, and Xabi Alonso have presented the team’s new kit which celebrates their status as World Cup 2010 champions.

The spectacular new shirts are designed by Adidas, and feature a gold crest showing they are the world champions and therefore considered the best team on the planet for the next four years.

Its design is more dynamic, to honor Spain’s style of football on the field and also includes a strip of electric blue on the sides to match the shorts.

The words ‘World Champions 2010’ are also inside the neckline. To promote the new shirt, Adidas had started a campaign called ‘A New Jersey, Born From Within’.

“We are proud to wear this new shirt,” explained Barcelona’s Xavi, while Villarreal’s Cazorla joked that it was “a little small.”

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso believes that la Furia Roja’s next friendly match against Portugal on Wednesday is the perfect opportunity to show off the new kit: “It is a good game, and will be a good debut for this shirt.”

Marchena was already looking to the future, hoping that Spain can win the next World Cup, while Barcelona super star Villa recalled la Furia Roja’s win over the Seleccao in South Africa at the round of 16 stage.

“This game will bring back memories of some wonderful times. Hopefully, we’ll be lucky and give this shirt a good and proper start. It is a responsibility [to wear the Spain kit]. I’m proud to do so and I’m sure success will follow.
