Samsung is partnering with Airtel to launch the Samsung Chief Hero phone. The Chief Hero phone comes with a bundled Airtel SIM card that gives the consumer GH¢ 8 of voice credit and 100MB of data each month for 6 months, as long as he/she tops up or uses 5GH¢ each month. The bonus credit can be used for only Airtel to Airtel calls.
To officially launch the phone in partnership with Airtel, Business Head for Hand Held Products at Samsung West Africa, Jaspreet Singh, remarked that ‘there is a perception that low-cost mobile phones are not reliable.
Samsung is proud to say that our Chief Hero is not only cost effective and reliable, but it is also ultra-durable – and with great battery life, internet access and Smart Dual SIM technology- the Samsung Chief Hero is certainly designed with the African consumer in mind’.
On his part, Mrinal Roy, the Chief Operating Officer of Airtel stated: ‘whether our customers want to browse online or use Facebook, as well as enjoy free talk time and data on Airtel on an affordable handset, the Chief Hero is the answer; this is just right for those customers who are cost sensitive and have always wanted to have access to an affordable GPRS Dual SIM phone.
This is the convenience we want to bring to our customers. We are particularly glad to be partnering with Samsung on this.” The Samsung Chief Hero is available in all Samsung accredited shops.
Designed specifically for the African market, the Samsung Chief Hero phone comes with a FREE Jelly Cover and FREE 2GB memory card. The Chief Hero phone gives users a whopping 11-hour talk time, 550 hours of standby time and long battery life.
It also comes with GPRS/internet connectivity and enables users to automatically switch between two (2) SIMS in addition to connecting with family and friends on Facebook, browsing on the internet, and sending and receiving text messages. The phone also has a 1.8” TFT screen, MP3 and FM Radio.
