…Kotoko stutter again
With Kofi Owusu Aduonum
Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko yesterday failed in their respective attempts to halt their bad performances and restore some hope in their faithful supporters, after their recent stuttering in the Glo Premier League.
Hearts’ manager Paa Kwesi Fabin could not stand the might of his former side, Berekum Arsenals, guided by former Kotoko coach, Johnson Smith, losing 0-1 before home crowd at Ohene Djan.
It was Ouatara Mumuni who hit the back of the net for the visitors, when the game had barely developed in the 11th minute. Hearts fought relentlessly to redeem the slender lead but failed.
A defensive blunder on the part of Hearts nearly saw Arsenal increase the tally to two, but referee Kwame Nsiah Boafo in a bizarre manner, awarded an infringement against the visitor’s striker, who had gone past goalkeeper Sammy Adjei.
Kotoko came close to returning home with a point, but Ebusua Dwarfs denied them that opportunity when they fetched a late goal, to stretch the former’s recent losing streak to seven.
