Obuasi MP donates desks to schools

From Albert Nana Asante

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Obuasi, Mr. Edward Ennin, has re-affirmed his commitment towards quality education delivery in the Obuasi municipality.

Mr. Ennin made the pledge when he donated 500 school desks to the Obuasi Municipal Education Directorate of Education, to be distributed to 19 basic schools in the municipality.

This brings to 3,500 the number of desks the MP has distributed, since assuming office in 2004.

The beneficiary schools include the Obuasi Methodist A&B, Obuasi Complex Junior High Scgool (JHS), Kwabenafori JHS, New Nsuta JHS, Obuasi Presby, Pomposo JHS and Tutuka JHS.

Others are Independence Primary A & C, Bogobiri A & B, SDA Primary, Saquafia Islamic Primary, Obuasi Secondary Technical and Bediem Experimental.
He was hopeful the desks would go a long way to improve quality education delivery in the area, especially, as the municipality seeks to maintain its first position on the national ranking of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The Obuasi Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Jonny Owusu-Boadi, commended the MP for his continuous support towards the growth of education in Obuasi, and appealed to him to assist his outfit in organising this year’s Best Teacher Award.
