NPP will build modern markets”

Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has promised the NPP will be building modern markets across the country, if voted into power at the December polls.

The modern market, she said, would have fire stations, hospitals, and other facilities that will make “our mothers and sisters comfortable anytime they go to the market to do their business.”

Attributing the lack of fire tenders to most of the damages caused during fire outbreaks, Mrs. Akufo-Addo said, the modern markets would also have easy access routes for traders and customers.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo was addressing market women during a visit to the Mallam Market, which was destroyed by fire a few days ago. The market women, who were particularly grateful to Nana Akufo-Addo’s wife for her visit, expressed their disappointment at the way they had been neglected by the Mahama administration since the unfortunate incident.

They also complained about how some of the banks had refused to provide them with financial aid to ensure they were able to resume their business activities.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo promised that the NPP would bring back that era where banks would freely give out loans without any difficulty.

She urged the women to work hard and vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP, “because we have a programme for the country.”

“We will do the FREE SHS, bring back the free maternal care, make the NHIS more active, and above all, improve the wellbeing of Ghanaians.”

Mrs. Akufo-Addo was accompanied by Mrs. Samira Bawumia, wife of the NPP’s vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, amongst others.
