-As headmasters express gratitude for school infrastructure
The government has presented a bus to the Mozano Senior High School (SHS), and a pickup to the Potsin T.I. Ahamadiyya Senior High School to help in the day-to-day activities of the two most emerging rural community second cycle schools in the Central Region.
Presenting the vehicles on behalf of the government, the Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe, said the bus was presented to Mozano SHS because they did not have one to aid the transportation of students to excursions and other SHS programmes, while the Ahmaddiyya SHS has a bus, but the Headmaster did not have a vehicle to ensure effective monitoring, hence the provision of the pickup.
According to her, the government would continue to resource the second cycle schools by providing more facilities to increase enrolment, adding that the government was committed to elevating rural schools to model ones.
She said she witnessed the beginning of Mozano SHS, when people refused to send their wards to the school, owing to poor infrastructure, but she pointed out that currently, admission to the school was very competitive, because of emerging better facilities.
On Potsin Ahamadiyya SHS, Mrs. Benyiwa Doe said the school had witnessed growth in infrastructure within the last three years, adding that the government would continue to add more facilities to make it one of the best schools in the region.
She, therefore, expressed gratitude to Nana Emmanuel Acquah, Headmaster of Mozano SHS, and Abdullah Ayyub, Assistant Headmaster, and the administration of Potsin Ahamadiyya SHS for working hard in bringing the schools to the current high level.
The recipients thanked the government for the kind gesture, and asked for the provision of more facilities from for their respective schools.
