from Albert Nana Asante

THE OBUASI Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. John Alexander Ackon, has commended the management of Time FM, an Obuasi-based radio station, for embarking on programmes that seek to facilitate the development of municipality.
He made the commendation when the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the station, Nana Opoku Agyemang, paid a courtesy call on him at his office.
Mr. Ackon regretted that most radio stations were only interested in partisan and political activities that end up creating unnecessary tension in society, adding, “It is in the light of the above that I commend you (Time FM) for developing people-centered and entertaining programmes that would deepen the unity in the municipality.”
He was convinced that the station would continue to embark on programmes and activities that would contribute to the socio-economic growth of the country.
The MCE expressed the hope that Time FM, which has been in existence for only four months, would play a key role in the branding of the municipality, in order to attract more investors.
He gave the assurance that Obuasi would witness one of the most peaceful elections come December 7, and urged the station to play a positive role in that direction.
The CEO of Time FM, who was accompanied on his visit by Messrs Akwasi Gyamfi, Stephen Ennin, Albert Nana Asante and Kwabena Sikeyena, the Programmes Head, Marketing Manager, News Editor and deputy News Editor of the station respectively, in response, assured the MCE that the station would not relent in its efforts at promoting peace, unity and growth in the municipality, since it was in line with the station’s vision.
