Kwaebibirem DCE Warns Defiant Private Developer

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwaebibirem, Hon. Emmanuel Osae has issued a stern warning to one Sule Alhassan, a private developer who has allegedly taken the law into his hands and built on a piece of land earmarked for a road at Kade Zongo.

Speaking to Eastern file, the DCE said that the private developer’s construction, which is almost at the window level, is not only on a land earmarked for a road but also in a water-prone area, adding that the building could not be allowed to be completed, because of the potential consequences.

The DCE said that because Sule Alhassan knows the dangers associated with the construction of the building, he operated with his men at night to work at the blind side of the Assembly.

According to DCE Osae, the Assembly managed to identify Mr. Alhassan as the owner of the building only a few days ago, and that when he was questioned whether he had a building permit, he said no.

The DCE disclosed that when Alhassan was invited to the Assembly for a meeting on the need for him to stop building, since the area has been earmarked for road construction, Alhassan walked out on the management of the Assembly.

Sequel to Alhassan’s alleged disrespect, the DCE had issued a last warning to him to either stop building or the building will be demolished in the next few days. This was after the private developer had ignored several warnings from the assembly to desist from building, including the District Engineer’s hand-written notice of “stop work” orders painted in red on the wall of the building.

However, Alhassan appears determined to call the bluff of the DCE and to continue to with the building, allegedly claiming that the DCE does not have the muscles to pull down his building.
