The Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West Constituency in the Bono Region, Mr. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng, has distributed over 25,000 exercise books to all Junior High School students in his constituency.

The MP, who has education as his highest priority, has supported students in diverse ways such as the introduction of free vacation classes for all school children during vacations to boost educational standards in the constituency.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr Peter Asoma Boampong, on behalf of the MP, said: “The MP has contributed a lot to education and he is on course to strengthen education in the constituency.”

He said the MP’s initiative is in line with the President’s free education policy to reduce burden and pressure on parents. Mr. Boampong said out of the 25,000 exercise books, each JHS student in the constituency is to receive 10 books.

The selected schools were drawn from both the government and private schools in the constituency to benefit from the donation.

He said, “the MP has again planned to distribute dual chairs to schools that lack chairs as a lot of appeal have been directed to him for support of chairs in their schools”.

The Chief of Jinijini, Nana Tutu Baffour Asare, thanked the MP for assisting parents in educating their children in the district.

He advised the students to make good use of the exercise books and to take their education serious. He also urged parents to also do their part to support their children’s education.

The JHS students thanked the MP for his kind gesture to support them in their education. They pledged to study hard and to also make good use of the books they have received. They informed the MP to keep on with the good works by supporting school children education in his constituency.
