The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of E-Hope Foundation in the Berekum Municipality in the Bono Region, Nana Afia Siraa Ababio III, has presented books to five Senior High Schools (SHS) in Berekum to celebrate her 61st Birthday.

EoHope Foundation Ackomlip Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Berekum, is an education-oriented organisation which aims to transform people through reading.

The organisation’s vision is to encourage students to read a book every week through its free reading books distribution.

As part of its routine distribution of free books to various schools to encourage reading, the CEO of EoHope Foundation, whose birthday celebrations fell on 25th of July 2019, used the occasion to distribute over 1,000 books to all the SHSs to boost learning.

According to Nana Afia Siraa Ababio III, Katohemaa of the Berekum Traditional Area, “The time is now for students to inculcate the habit of reading, which will help them in their education.”

She said: “Reading should be part of every child’s life”, and urged the students to read a book every week as part of the learning culture.

Some of the schools that benefited from the donation include Berekum Senior High School, Berekum PRESEC, All For Christ SHS, Methodist SHS and Star SHS.

Nana Katohemaa urged the students to make good use of the books to climb higher on the educational ladder.

She finally appealed to benevolent organisations and individuals to come to the aid of the foundation to enable it to effectively distribute more books to school children.

The Director of Education in the Berekum Municipality, Mrs. Grace Ivy Ameyaw, thanked Nana Afia Siraa Ababio III for her kind gesture to supply free books to all the SHS to support their studies.
