The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Jaman North in the Bono Region, Mr. Adane Ankomah, has handed over 706 mono desks to 35 schools in the district.
The presentation was to fulfill his 2018 ‘My First Day at School’ promise of eliminating students sitting on the floor in school for lack of furniture.
The supply of the desks, according to the DCE, was made possible through the efforts of the assembly and the Deputy Bono Regional Minister, Mr. Siaka Stevens.
According to the DCE, the presentation of the desks would increase students’ enrolment in the district.
The DCE, however, tasked the District Director of Education, Mrs. Mabel Mikaka, to constantly monitor all the 35 beneficiary schools as to whether the chairs were being used for the intended purpose.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiary schools, Mrs. Mikah promised the DCE that she and her workers would to see to it that the chairs are maintained.
She commended the DCE, his administration, and the government for assisting the schools.
