The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Community Hospitals in Ghana, who is also the founder of Kotokuman Educational Trust Fund in Akim Oda, Mr. Alexander Foundation), has distributed 1,350 mathematical sets to all private and government school students writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in Akim Oda.
Speaking to the media at the head office of the Ghana Education Service at Akim Oda, Mr. Akwasi Acquah said he was always enthusiastic in assisting students in terms of material and financial support to enable them better their future.
To him, education is the bed rock to a meaningful life, hence, his presenting mathematical sets to BECE candidates every year in the Oda Constituency.
He further advised every BECE candidate to desist from negative examination practices and rather rely solely on what they have learnt from their teachers, since the consequences of engaging in any examination malpractice would be detrimental to their future.
He continued that since no one knows the exact questions set by West African Examination Council (WAEC), and besides students can never boast of passing exams with ‘apor’ (foreknowledge) because they didn’t write with their own effort and knowledge.
The former media guru accentuated that students at both Junior and Senior High levels must desist from the practices of occultism and other spiritual worship which could destroy their future.
He was of the conviction that relying on God, the Provider of all things, alone can provide a brighter future for them, and therefore, urged them to be a friend to Him by joining the Scripture Union (SU) while in school.
In a related development, the founder of Kotokuman Educational Trust Fund at Akim Oda donated a brand new registered Nissan pickup, which cost GH¢80,000, to the Akim Oda Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) office.
Speaking to the media, he said the Oda Constituency was a large constituency therefore, it was time party members who are blessed financially contribute to enable the party leaders work effectively.
The Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, who received the vehicle on behalf of the party, thanked Mr. Akwasi Acquah for his kindness, and pleaded to the party officials to make effective use of the vehicle.
The Oda Constituency Chairman, Mr. Awudu Issaka, also thanked Mr. Akwasi Acquah and pledged to make effective use of the vehicle, adding that he would ensure that the vehicle is always available for party work.
