The Amansie South District Assembly has distributed 35 motorbikes to staff of government departments and institutions in the district to enhance monitoring of the district.
The beneficiary institutions and departments included the Statistical Office, Ghana Education Service, Environmental Health, Social Welfare and Community Development, District Mining Task Force, District Health Directorate, District Immigration, Manso Adubia Senior High School (SHS), Keniago Sub-Traditional Council, Wirempi Sub-Traditional Council, Manso Adubia Divisional Council, Adubia Police Station, and Manso Adubia Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South, Mr. William Bediako Asante, said the donation was mooted by the District Assembly to enable all departments and institutions reach all parts of the district to discharge their duties effectively.
The DCE said the motorbikes were meant for official duties and not for the benefit of individuals, hence the need for proper care and maintenance to serve their purpose, to prolong their lifespans.
The beneficiaries the departments thanked the District Assembly for the support and pledged to work tirelessly and harder than before to ensure the proper growth of the newly-created Amansie South District.
