Nkoranza South MCE joins fight against Tramadol abuse
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkoranza South in the Bono East Region, Madam Diana Attaa-Kusiwaa, has admonished the youth in the area, and Ghana at large, to shun the use of Tramadol because it would adversely affect their health.
Addressing the Fourth Session of the Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly, Madam Attaa-Kusiwaa described as very alarming, the rate at which some youth in area were abusing Tramadol for reasons best known to them.
According to her, taking Tramadol in dosages not prescribed by a medical doctor can have negative and sometimes dangerous results. “The effects include disturbed sleep patterns resulting in insomnia, convulsions or seizures,” she noted.
The MCE, therefore, called on stakeholders to intensify efforts at fighting the menace.
Madam Attaa-Kusiwaa also gave the assurance that the assembly is ready to sensitise the citizenry about the need to pay revenue to help it fund its numerous projects.
She further assured the Education Directorate that the assembly would continue to offer it the support to ensure quality education delivery across the Municipality.
