The newly enstooled Queenmother of Akyem Akenkausu in the Achiase District, Nanahemaa Akua Krofah II, has charged parents in the area, and Ghanaians at large, not to sacrifice quality education for political and traditional gains.
According to Nanahemaa, quality education is non-negotiable, and, therefore, called on every parent to make it a priority, since it is the only key to success in life.
Notwithstanding, she asked all school going children in the area to demonstrate a high level of obedience to their parents in order to prosper in life, for they remain their supervisors in all activities they intend carrying out.
She took advantage of the occasion to appeal to the government to help rehabilitate the old market area, which is not being used anymore, in order to attract people from nearby towns and villages.
The Chairman for the West Akyem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Bensis Isaac Adu, also advised Christians to do away with the mindset that culture and tradition are devilish.
He said most Christians do not partake in culture and traditional activities in their communities, because they regard such things as ungodly, which shouldn’t be so, but rather draw near to everyone in their communities to have access in sharing the Gospel to them.
