The Lebanese Cultural Center has donated assorted medical items valued at GH¢90,000 to the Korle Bu Child Cancer Department.
The benevolence was a result of observations the group made on a visit to the health facility.
“In order to actually understand the real needs of the department, after our observations, we requested the management of Korle Bu to list what the unit lacked, and so based on the list the management gave us, we were able to acquire these different medical items, electrical appliances and children’s playing materials,” Nadine Jaber, Public Relations Officer of the Lebanese Cultural Centre, explained.
That was the first time the Lebanese Cultural Center has made a presentation to any health facility in Ghana, and Nadine Jaber said the Center would revisit the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital again for another charity, especially as the health facility is carrying out some expansion works.
Dr Daniel Asare, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, acknowledged receipt of the items, and on behalf of the management, expressed immense gratitude to the Lebanese Cultural Center.
He was glad that the benefactors expressed interest in revisiting the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for another show of love.
