The District Executive for Tain (DCE), Madam Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh, has called on Muslims in the district to ensure peace and unity among themselves and their neighbours, and to be guided by the key Islamic teachings of peace at all times.
In a speech read on her behalf by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Nicholas Kumi Achiaw, during the inauguration of the Menji Central Mosque, Madam Foriwaa Dwommoh said: “It’s time to show our humanity and to spare no efforts in developing peace in our communities and throughout the country.”
She noted that there can be no development in the communities without peace and cooperation, and advised them to refrain from disrupting the peace being enjoyed in the country.
In his address, Imamdeen Yahaya Mohammed Bamba thanked individuals and non-governmental organisations that contributed in putting up the mosque.
He said mosque is a symbol of unity, and called members of the community to embrace the principle of unity.
