The Ellembelle District Assembly has handed over a two-unit semi-detached teachers’ bungalow to the Nkroful Senior High School (NASS).
The bungalow was built at a total cost of GH¢199,000.
The project, started in 2015 was to be completed in six months, but the contractor could not complete it within the time frame.
However, last Wednesday, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Bonzoh Kwasi, popularly known as ‘Bonzoh K’, commissioned and handed over the facility to the District Education Director to be given to the Headmaster of NASS, Kwame Wurah.
Handing over the facility, Bonzoh K expressed the hope that it would be put to good use to enhance the quality of second cycle education in the area.
The Director of the Ghana Education Service, Blay Ackah, who received the facility, tasked the Headmaster to make sure only hardworking teachers were allocated the bungalow.
He said the provision of the building goes to underscore the fact that the government was concerned about the accommodation needs of tutors. For this reason, the facility should be used for the purpose it was provided.
Kwame Wura, Headmaster of NASS, who expressed his delight over the bungalow, said it would go to solve the accommodation problems tutors in the school faced and enhance teaching and learning.
