Divisional Police Officers in Bauchi State Command may be stripped of their positions if they fail to hang the portrait of the acting Inspector General of Police, Muhammadu Adamu, in their respective offices, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ali Janga, has warned.
Janga was speaking while decorating 135 Officers of the Command who were promoted to various ranks.
Those decorated were three new Deputy Commissioners of Police and three new Superintendents of Police.
The Commissioner of Police performed the decoration exercise at the Police Officers’ Mess in Bauchi State and was assisted by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration.
The CP noted with dismay that some DPOs were yet to purchase the portrait of the acting Police IG and that of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 12; vowing that those who fail to do so would be sanctioned.
Janga, who directed the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Kamal Abubakar, to ensure that all the DPOs buy the portrait, said, “I see no reason why a DPO, Area Commander or Head of Department in Bauchi State Police Command will not buy the portrait of the Inspector General of Police and that of the AIG, Zone 12.
“If you have not done so, please, do it, the money is not much. So, PPRO, all those who are yet to purchase them, if today they fail to do so, just submit their names to me. If you are a DPO, don’t blame me if I ask you to leave that office.”
