The President of the Ghana Community Niederbayem Landshut-Germany, Kwame Abrefa Busia, has won the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive Excellence Award in recognition of his philosophy to promote quality health care delivery to the people of Wenchi and its communities.
The Municipal Chief Executive Excellence Award was announced at the 62nd Independence Anniversary at Wenchi in the Bono Region.
Mr. Augustine Asamoah received the award on behalf of Mr. Kwame Abrefa Busia at the Wenchi Jubilee Park.
Presenting the award, the Minister for Planning, Professor George Gyan Baffour, commended the recipient for his selflessness to promote the health of the people.
“You have collaborated with management of the Methodist Hospital to touch the lives of the sick people who have visited the hospital over the years, and you have provided funding that has enabled the hospital management to provide a 12 bedroom fully furnished relatives hostel worth 55,120 Euros, a 48-bed capacity fully equipped Germany urologic ward valued at 144,668 euros, an ongoing ultra-modern physiotherapy center worth 200,000 euros,” Professor Gyan Baffour said.
Part of the citation read: “You passionately believe that service to mankind is service to God, and as a result you have selflessly dedicated your energies and financial resources in servitude to mankind.” It continued: “By these endeavors, you have boldly written your name in indelible ink in the chronicles of time, and posterity will forever owe you gratitude.”
It added: “In recognition of your meritorious services, I, on behalf of the entire people of Wenchiman and that of the Municipal Assembly, and on my own behalf, wish to confer on you the Municipal Chief Executive Excellence Award for the year 2018, as a sign of our heartfelt gratitude to you for this great achievement.”
Mr. Asamoah thanked Wenchiman and the Municipal Chief Executive on behalf of Mr. Abrefa Busia for the honour done him.
