The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sunyani East Constituency in the Bono Region, Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh, is constructing a 3-unit classroom block, staff common room, and an office for the Vice Principal of the Methodist Technical and Vocational Institute at Baakoniaba in Sunyani.
The sod-cutting ceremony for the project was witnessed by municipal education officers, staff and management of the school, as well Nananom (chiefs) of the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ameyaw Cheremeh said: “This project has its funding secured and sitting in the account waiting to be used. Hence, by the grace of God, it shall see its commencement and completion within four months.”
According to the MP, the project will address the existing deficit of classrooms in the school, thereby augmenting the government’s Free Senior High School policy.
He has also announced that he has lobbied for the construction of a six-unit classroom block with libraries, storerooms and offices for the Yawhima SDA Junior High School (JHS) and Anglican Basic School, both in his constituency.
