MTN Foundation Ghana has donated 280 science sets to the Ayeduase R/C Primary and Achiawkrom M/A Junior High schools in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The gesture, based on Desk top Technology, forms part of efforts to make the learning of science at the basic level more effective and attractive to students.
Mr. Simon Amoh, Senior Manager of the Northern Business sector of MTN, explained that the gesture was to help students know how to conduct experiments free of charge, and to also make the science subject a hobby and encourage them to become scientists in the near future.
According to him, the items would enhance the learning of science, and challenged both teachers and students take good care of the items which should serve the current and future students of the schools.
Madam Anna Omane-Mensah and Mr. Opoku Ofosuhene, Headmistress of Ayeduase R/C Primary and Headmaster of Achiawkrom M/A JHS respectively, commended MTN Ghana for the kind gesture.
According to them, the gesture was a privilege for their schools to improve on the science subject in order to give their students good a foundation in science to enable them produce more scientists in future.
Mr. Nicholas Bassaw, Ejisu Municipal Director of Education, commended MTN for the good work, and the efforts in improving lives through education, health and empowerment of the citizenry.
He appealed to other corporate organizations, philanthropists and well-meaning Ghanaians to emulate the steps of MTN Ghana in partnering the government to make education accessible in the Ejisu Municipality, and the country as a whole.
