A three-unit classroom block has been commissioned at Manso Atwere for the Kindergarten at the D/A Basic School.
The edifice, which comprises an office, store and water closet (WC) toilet facilities, was constructed by the Amansie West District Assembly at the cost of GH¢191,115.
The DCE for Amansie West, Mr. Nii Lartey Ollenu, said it is the policy of the government to provide classroom blocks for every community.
He appealed to parents to send their children to school to enable them become useful citizens, and further urged the school management committee to take proper care of the facilities.
The District Director of Education, Mr. Kwabena Owusu, commended the Amansie West District Assembly for its continued support of the education sector.
He said some of the district’s primary schools lack school furniture and teacher’s quarters, and appealed to the Assembly to support in that direction as well.
The Assembly Member for Manso Atwere Electoral Area, Mr. Francis Akwasi Obeng, thanked the District Assembly for the support and promotion of education.
Nana Ofori, the Adontehene who chaired the function, appealed to parents to use their little resources to invest in their children’s education.
