Tottenham have gagged manager Mauricio Pochettino from talking about Manchester United‘s interest.
In the Argentine’s pre-match press conference ahead of the weekend clash against Everton, Pochettino was prevented from answering questions about the vacant managerial role at Old Trafford.
United want Pochettino to replace Jose Mourinho at the helm from next season after the Portuguese boss’ sacking on Tuesday.
But Sky, despite trying repeatedly to do so, were told they could not ask questions about United’s situation by the club’s head of communications Simon Felstein.
Cameras were switched off for a brief period before the press conference resumed.
Much of Thursday’s press conference was dominated by United’s pending move for Pochettino – but Spurs seem determined for their manager not to be publicly dragged into the affair.
Pochettino has received a considerable amount of praise for the work that he has done since being appointed as Tottenham manager in 2014 and his current contract at the club runs until the summer of 2023.
