The Chief Executive for the Adansi North District Assembly (ANDA) in the Ashanti Region, Mr Eric Kusi Kwaku, has commissioned three projects to facilitate development in the district.
The projects include a three-unit classroom block for the Asilevikrom Junior High School (JHS), a mechanised borehole at Dadwen, and visitors’ lounge for the Dompoase Senior High School.
The visitors’ lounge was to climax the 2017/2018 Student Representative Council (SRC) Week celebration and issuance of certificates to small scale miners who received training at the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa.
He also personally donated GH¢500 to the SRC, two sets of footballs and jerseys, including 50 pieces of sports vests for boys and girls.
The classroom block is being funded by the Assembly with its share of the District Assembly Common Fund, while the visitors’ lounge is being constructed by the 2017/2018 SRC, and the borehole by AngloGold Ashanti (Obuasi Mine) ,as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
Mr Kusi, in giving the certificate to the small scale miners, advised them not to go and start doing anything, but wait until the barn is lifted.
“Even if the barn is lifted, you will go through a process, and when successful, you will be given a go ahead.”
The DCE took advantage to explain to the people about on-going projects in the school by the government, namely, an 18-seater water closet toilet for boys, and 18-seater for girls by the Ghana National Petroleum Commission, and a six-unit classroom block by Ghana Educational Trust Fund.
