The Jaman North District Chief Executive, Mr. Adane Ankomah and Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Siaka Stephen, have jointly cut sod for the construction of a number of projects in the district.
The projects under the auspices of the Ministry for Special Development Initiatives include; maternity ward, two teachers’ bungalows and mechanised borehole.
The two leaders commenced their work at Seketia in the Kwatwoma Stool land with a sod-cutting for the construction of a maternity block and other facilities.
The team proceeded to Bonakire where a teachers’ bungalow for the D/A School will be constructed. A similar sod-cutting was held at Adadiem for Adadiem R/C School.
At Adadiem, the DCE and MP donated GHc2,500 to support their annual festival which is mainly aimed at “giving thanks to their ancestors and the living for protection”.
The team proceeded to Jamera for a sod-cutting of a mechanised borehole.
This, however, is funded by a foreign donor. Three of the projects at Seketia, Bonakire and Adadiem are awarded to Mr. Owusu Rexford of Resindolf Construction Company and is expected to be completed within three months.
