The Chief of Aseseeso, a farming community in the Okere District, has passionately called on residents and natives to help rebrand and make the area attractive for socio-economic development.

According to Okatakyie Kusi Obuadum Ameyaw V, destiny is driven by who or what captures the heart, hence it will be imperative for the people of Aseseeso to take their destiny into their hands and initiate development programmes which will attract government attention.

He made the call during a press conference to account and outdoor his vision for the area since ascending to the stool some 25 years ago, as well as some highlights of the Odwira festival celebration.

Speaking to the media, Okatakyie Ameyaw V disclosed that through the support of other well-meaning residents in the area, he has constructed a six bedroom teachers’ bungalow for some teachers in the area.

According to him, the teachers’ bungalow, even though not enough, would go a long way to motivate teachers who are coming from afar to accept postings and help the educational goal of the people.

The Aseseeso Chief continued that a kindergarten block, Junior High School (JHS) block and library have also been constructed through his instrumentality.

To improve the economic condition of the area, the Chief mentioned that through the support of others, a market has been constructed for the teeming men and women who do not have the opportunity to be engaged in the formal sector.

The youth, especially the young ladies, have benefited from sewing, following the construction of a skills and training centre.

The area can also boast of a durbar ground where the chief and people gather for all major programmes, including their festival.

Touching on the festival, which will take place on Saturday, Okatakyie Ameyaw V called on the people to grace this year’s celebration in style, peace, and unity for development.

According to him, development and success are not overnight packages, however, they come with lengthy periods of sweat and toil by doing the right things over and over again.

To this end, he called on the people, both home and abroad, to come back to contribute their widow’s mite for the accelerated socio-economic development of the area, since there is no sustainable development without preparation and sacrifice.

He indicated that the dreams and aspirations of his council members would be a mirage if the members of the community show lack of commitment and dedication to drive the development of the area.

He continued that when people come together, united in work for the same vision, they undoubtedly accomplish more, hence, the need for all citizens of the area to come together and work towards their development goals.
