The Asutifi North District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Anthony Mensah, has presented 600 school desks to the District Education Directorate for distribution to basic schools in the district.
The donation is in fulfillment of the assembly’s pledge to provide the necessary logistics to facilitate effective teaching and learning in schools.
The assembly, at the beginning of the year, pledged to support schools in the area with over 3,000 pieces of furniture at a time most school faced a deficit for both pupils and teachers.
At the presentation ceremony, the DCE said the furniture would address the shortage of desks in some schools under the third phase of support in the district under his administration.
Mr. Mensah said the Assembly would provide more desks for schools to promote teaching and learning.
The DCE tasked the Education Directorate and teachers to supervise the use of the furniture by the pupils, and assured managers of Senior High Schools (SHS) that their requests for similar support had been captured in the assembly’s budget, and will soon be delivered.
The District Education Director, Mr. Augustine Amoako Asare, commended the assembly for the timely gesture
He promised that the Directorate would monitor the use of the items for their intended purpose, to promote the development of education in the district.
