NGO, DCE provide free healthcare for Bebu community

A New York-based non-governmental organisation, Nkrumah’s Restoration of Hope, in collaboration with Nana Okyere Tawiah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region, has provided free healthcare for the people of Bebu community.
Mrs. Animah Sika-Boamah, Executive Director of the organisation, explained during the exercise that the gesture is to help the needy and less-privileged in society, especially those in the rural communities, to improve upon their health status.
The NGO embarked upon the exercise following a request by the DCE to provide free healthcare for the community.
They screened for ailments like diabetes, eyes, ears and throats, babies with malnutrition and blood pressure.
Mr. Isaac Boamah, Director of Operations, indicated that the organisation did not provide only free healthcare, they also helped the less-privileged with potable water, clothing and shoes to improve their general standard of living.
Nana Okyere Tawiah entreated the general public to cultivate the attitude of routine health checkups, at least, once or twice annually, to enable them know their health status.
He disclosed that the exercise would not be a nine day’s wonder, but would continue and extended to other communities in the district.
The DCE hoped the exercise would to ensure the improved health standard of the residents to enable them to contribute their quota to the socioeconomic development of the district and the country as a whole.
