A Principal Administrative Assistant of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been confirmed the Municipal Chief Executive of Oforikrom in Kumasi.
Mrs. Gloria Temmah Gambrah, who was nominated by the President, polled 14 votes out of 15, representing 98.7% of the votes cast.
Mr. Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, commended members of the Assembly for honouring the President by endorsing his nominee to ensure that his developmental agenda for the assembly is realised.
He called on all stakeholders, including Nananom (traditional authorities) to rally behind the MCE to champion the cause of the development of the area through government programmes and policies.
He also entreated the newly elected MCE to ensure transparency and accountability with the management and staff of the assembly, to facilitate her administration in rolling out government policies and programmes to reflect on the lives of the people in the municipality.
Mrs. Gambrah also expressed her profound gratitude to the President for the nomination, and promised not to disappoint him in the discharge of her duties as the political head of the assembly.
She promised to work with Nananom, stakeholders, and everyone who matters most, to ensure that she delivers to the aspirations of the people.
The new MCE commended members of the Assembly and party executives for the overwhelming endorsement, and assured them of a united force for the development of the assembly, to enable them benefit from their fair share of the national cake
