A 15-member team of Mondelez International personnel from seven European countries, namely, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland, UK, Austria and France, have held a forum for cocoa farmers at Manso-Mem.
The forum was dubbed Cocoa Life Programme, during which the team interacted with their counterparts in Ghana, and encouraged them to work hard to improve upon cocoa production.
The country leader, Mrs. Yaa Peprah Amekudzi, explained that the visit revealed that all the 36 cocoa life programmes in the Amansie West District were really working, and urged them to continue the good work being done.
The President of the Amansie West Cocoa Life Programme, said the group has 36 communities with serious and hardworking farmers, some of who make bread, cake, soap and pomade to support their livelihoods.
The Mondelez International Team also paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive, Mr. William Bediako Asante, and briefed him on their activities in the district.
The DCE thanked them for the wonderful work done in the district, and the pledged support of the government for their work.
