Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the sudden demise of Mr Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as sad.
He expressed shock at the unfortunate news through a post on his Twitter wall minutes after the news broke.
In the short post, Mr Mahama said hIs right hand man actively took part in the party’s constituency elections last Saturday.
It reads: “Shocking!
No! PK was only last Saturday actively involved in our party’s constituency elections in the Central Region.
Very sad Friday!
Family’s official announcement
Meanwhile, the family of Mr Amissah-Arthur has officially announced his demise.
A statement issued on Friday, 29th June, 2018 called on the media to give the family some privacy.

for the family, the release captioned, “sudden demise of former Vice President” also said the family would announce the funeral arrangements in due cause.
“With deep regrets, we announce the sudden demise of the immediate past Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency K. B. Amissah-Arthur, in Accra this morning.
The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support in this moment of grief. In due course, the family would keep the public informed of the funeral arrangements.
Respectfully, we wish to request that the media gives the family some privacy in these very difficult times.”
