Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs came from behind twice to win a vital point against their bitterest rivals, Sharks, in their regional derby played in Elmina yesterday.
The highly contentious match lived up to expectation, as both sides showed their readiness to carry the day.
However, it was former Kotoko attacker, Yakubu Mohammed who set the stadium ablaze with a thunder strike from a free kick in the 19th minute after fierce exchanges.
Dwarfs new found wonder kid, Amos Nkrumah, levelled for his side minutes after, to electrify the atmosphere in the stadium.
Striker Yakubu made it two for his new employers when he connected a pass from Benjamin Tweneboah to silence the Crab supporters at the stadium
Dwarfs remained unperturbed and kept pushing for the equaliser until they were rewarded with a penalty.
Amos Nkrumah mustered courage and wonderfully converted the spot kick to put his side on a level pegging before recess.
Dwarfs kept their host under intense pressure but their desire to grab the winner did not materialise, as they were met by Sharks’ gallant defenders.
This is the first time the two regional foes have shared honours in the premiership since Sharks joined last season.
